Letter 12/13/2011

Hola Familia Como Esta?

To start off, sorry for not writing you all yesterday. We had a huge junto con el presidente and that was a nightmare for close to 4 hours... We basically just got yelled at for not completing "el estandarte de excelencia" hahaha but I did learn some things we need to improve on, so thats nice... But anyways, thats why im writing right now...

Also, tell grandma I got here package today and it was also unopened so thats a double plus. And also tell Tanner HAPPY BIRFDAY! FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS A TI! Thats pretty cool he has his license now. I had to wait until I was like 40 to drive, so thats a plus for him...

So as for news in the mission right now... Things are slowly turning around.... We right now have an amazing investigator... (for right now, that is until she probably goes to jail in Canada next month, so we are hoping to baptize her before then) hahahaha....

Right now we are also still teaching Francisco and his family, and we are hoping to have them baptized by the end of the month.... We seriously fast like once or twice a week just to see some results in our area and hope for a change in the attitudes of our investigators... Ahora we are focusing on our theme of "buscando escogidos" and its working out a lot better.... Also this week, we had a "casa abierta" and elder Tucker and I were put on splits to contact people in the street. It was awesome! I had about 135 contacts and he had about 25 hahaha.... Man I still love Elder Tucker, and its awesome hearing 2 crazy white kids try to talk spanish, because neither one of us can speak very good, but the best part is, when people heard elder tucker talk they just started laughing... We were kinda shocked at first, but the more i listened to what he was saying, i soon realized he was saying "somos misionebrios de la iglesia" you might need Tyler to translate what that means because i dont know if i spelled it right, and even if i did, google translator probably wont know what it means hahahahaha. It is pretty funny though...

Also right now, I forgot it was even the month of december, because each day its insanely hot and we are out walking around, sweating like crazy, and then yesterday I learned this is "the cold season"...hmmmm not good.... But its kinda funny... everyone really has Christmas on their minds right now, and I forgot that it was at the end of this month until yesterday when i got the package from grandma... Es un poco differente, when youre walking around all day preaching the gospel, for a while you forget all about yourself and next thing you know another week has gone by.... Im starting to learn what its like to lose yourself in the work.... to be honest, its actually pretty fun....

Well i dont have much time to write, because we have an appointment here in like 15 min, but I did just want to say real quick that I love you all... Im hoping to send off that package this upcoming week... I didnt have any time yesterday of course, so christmas from me will probably be late this year....

Also for my fan club of weird food ive been eating.... Tortas Ahogadas are extremely famous here... I ate 2 last week and its weird to explain... They take a giant hogi roll, (except their bread is really stiff and tastes kinda like sour dough), they put spicy pork in it... Put it in a bag and drench it in chili sauce.... Tons! Its sooooo spicy, and to make it worse, they top it off with a vinegar mixture of onions and habeneros.... Remind me that after my mission im never going to eat another habenero in my life.... Also... Boiled Chicken Lungs.... lets be honest... not that bad... a little lime and sea salt and its pretty good tasting hahaha

Anyways, Ive got to be going, but just know I keep you all in my prayers and just keep praying for me is all I ask....

Tambien, Eric, tenga suerte con su novia.... pero de verdad, sabemos que yo podría ser el primer de nostros en estar casado....

¡¡¡¡Cuidense Mucho Familia, Les Amo!!!!!!
